What are the uses of AdBlue?
AdBlue is used in many diesel engine vehicles and is a legal requirement for trucks and all modes of public transportation that were manufactured after 2005. (add article or law about this). Those that were manufactured previously are not required to use AdBlue due to the difficulty in adapting to older models of vehicles. Vehicles with Euro 4 and up emission standards will need regular top ups of AdBlue depending on the model, amount of use and the mileage of the vehicle. Many car manufacturers are now using Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) that requires AdBlue on their diesel engine models. This reflects an increased awareness of the importance of reducing harmful emissions to support a lower environmental impact.
Benefits of AdBlue?
The major benefit of using AdBlue is it reduces the emission of Nitrogen Oxide (NOx) from a diesel engine vehicle. This will reduce the negative impact that your company is causing the environment thus allowing it to advertise as an eco-friendly provider. Naturally, this is of great importance to public transport companies, businesses with diesel engine vehicles as well as car manufacturers.
Does AdBlue Increase Vehicle Performance?
AdBlue has no direct effect on the overall performance of the engine. It helps in reducing the polluting emissions to meet the standard of European norms. However, in case the AdBlue tank is not refilled, the performance of the vehicle can be affected which may cause the engine to stop.
Is AdBlue Required Here in the Philippines?
All new vehicles that were introduced in the Philippine market by January 2016 shall be equipped with Euro 4 engine and are compliant with Euro 4 emission standards. The DENR Environmental Management Bureau shall issue Certificates of Conformity (COC) only to Euro 4/IV vehicles starting January 2016. This is in compliance with RA No. 8749 (Philippine Clean Air Act of 1999), an act of providing a comprehensive air pollution control policy which aims to achieve and maintain healthy air for all Filipinos.
How Do You Properly Store AdBlue?
The AdBlue solution is colorless, non-toxic, and safe to handle. It is recommended that it should be stored in a cool, dry and well-ventilated area and away from direct sunlight. For storage and shipping, it is only compatible to be kept in Polyethylene (HDPE/XLPE) containers, Fiber Reinforced Plastic (FRP) and Intermediate Bulk Container (IBC).
